Installing Message Companion 2010
- To install the application you need to download Message Companion 2010 by clicking here. When asked whether you'd like to "Run or Save the file" select Save, and save to the desktop
- Once the download has completed, double click the file to start the installation
- Requirements & Prerequisites:
There is no need to download the following prerequisites as the installation will check to see if they are required. If they are required they will be downloaded and installed automatically. We have added download links to the prerequisites should you require them for multi-site installations.- Windows Operating System (XP,Vista,7)
- Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 (minimum) - Download here (only Windows XP)
- Windows Installer v3.1 (minimum) - Download here (only Windows XP)
- During Installation, you may be asked to install the above prerequisites as they are required to run Message Companion. The prerequisites will be downloaded and installed automatically. Once complete, re-run the Message Companion installation.
First Time Use
The application adds itself to your start menu under the heading "Message Companion 2010".
When the application is run it will first check if there are any updates available.
If an update is found it will automatically download and install it. If No update
is found click on "Continue".
When logging in for the first time you need to be online so we can verify your login details. If you are online and the application cannot access the SMS Gateway a settings screen will appear. This will allow you to add settings if you are behind a proxy server or firewall.
If you are still unable to connect, please add Message Companion to your set of Allowed applications in your firewall, or contact us.

Export Groups and Numbers from old version to the new version
Groups and numbers can be exported from the old version to the new
version of Message Companion using the following steps.>
1. Open the old version of Message Companion.
2. Click on the group you wish to export using the left hand side menu.
3. Select all the numbers that appear in the group using the Select All button.
4. In the tool bar press ‘Export’, and save the file. This will export data in CSV format
5. Create an export file (.csv) for each group you have by repeating steps 1 to 3.

1. Create a new group or as many groups as you need to accommodate the numbers you will be importing, i.e one group per CSV file that was previously created.
2. Select the import button located in the top menu bar. This will start the import process.
3. Select the “Import From CSV” option and press Next.
4. Select the file to import
5. Select which group to import the CSV file data into using the drop down on the bottom right side
6. Finally press the Import button
